I was fasting last Tuesday...I was about ready to go home, when I received an sms from mom:
"Adah kena beli makanan buka posa sendiri, mama kat HKL, sakit dada"
( Adah, you have to buy food to break your fast, mama in HKL, chest pain )
What?? And she expect me to just go home happily and break my fast is it?
I called her immediately, she told me that she was in the emergency room. She cried on the phone and couldn't talk smoothly. I said I will be there as soon as I can.
I shut down my PC, performed my Asar and prayed for a smooth journey to HKL and for my mother's safety.
Alhamdulilllah, the traffic was clear. I arrived there at 6 plus. The parking facility at HKL sucks!
Nway, I called my mom and she said, they just finished doing her X-ray. After that, I went to Blok Utama, I asked the guard where is the X-ray room. I went it, no sign of her. I asked again about her from the nurses, they pointed to the room where she was in.
I saw her. With her serkup, sitting almost upright, with tubes in her nose. I called "Mak..!" She looked and saw me. I went to her and give her a hug. Both of us ended up crying. I dunno..we seldom do that. You know..hug each other. It was a Hallmark moment for us maybe.
So, I asked what happened. And here is her story.
She was having the the trouble breathing at school and so, she decided to go home early and on the way she stopped by a clinic. The doctor performed ECG...it was not looking good and so, she was immediately referred to HKL. She was sent there by someone, hence the car was left at the clinic.
I waited there with her till past Maghrib. I did not buy any food yet, but I was not hungry. She was more concerned about me though. Asking me to go out, buy food, then go home and packed her stuff. So, it was confirmed, that she will be warded.
It was quite a while for her to finally be warded. At first, she was in a 3rd class ward. The doctor wanted her to be under observation with the nurses close by. Once she was settled, I went home for a while to pack her stuff.
Oh..and also, he was there in the hospital with me once he found out that I was there with my mom. He accompanied me to fetch my mom's car, waited for me to pack her stuff and he bought me a burger and teh ais to break my fast. It was thoughtful of him to be there for me.
It was 10 something at the hospital when everything has settled. She gave me some bills for me to pay, some last minute instructions..you know, feed the fishes, lock the door..etc..yes Mak, I know Mak.. and we bid goodnite to her.
That was Day 1..and it was Papa's birthday.
DAY 2
I asked my HOD permission to go home early after lunch. My classes were all finished. First, my mom sms-ed me to get more of her stuff, second I needed to settle the bills she asked me to pay and third, I had a headache.
I felt that I could not handle this alone. I called my aunt, Acu. She was surprised that my mom did not call her as they are close sisters.
My aunt and my cousins accompanied me to visit her. She was already transferred to the 2nd class ward already. She was happy to see us. We talked and laughed, and I slept on her bed for a short while, I had a headache remember..heheh
DAY 3
I had to stay back, got some presentation. She sms-ed me, telling me that she is now in a new ward with air-cond...and also that she had lost her toothbrush..heheh..
I arrived at 7.30pm while he waited for me at the hospital. He bought for my mom blueberry cheese tarts. Nyum..nyum.. we talked for a while, and she said that she might be discharged tomorrow (today). She also told me that Acu paid her a visit again that evening.

I visited her, both evening and nite except morning la kan..NO DOCTORS on sight for me to ask about her condition. It was only yesterday that he asked one of the nurses on when can my mom be discharged. She told us that they would not know as my mom was just transferred to the ward. The doctor will only be in the next morning. The nurse opened her file, and she told us that according to the doctor my mom has UNSTABLE ANGINA.
My mom told me that she was given injections as the treatment, and I asked the nurse what were the injections for. She told me that it has something to do with making the path for blood to flow smoothly..no blockage or some sort.

This morning, I started to search via Google: UNSTABLE ANGINA

My mom likes to keep things to herself. Even this news, she did not want to tell my bro and my sis. But being me, I told my brother. He called instantly and talked to my mom. It came to a point where my mom cried..because my brother cried. My mom passed the phone to me and I asked why are u crying? He said: "Of coursela, mama is in the hospital". I reassured him that mama is fine, but if you are worried, then come home la and honestly, Payit, Kak Adah wants you to come home and help. Penat tau sorang2..
To KD, I'm sorry for not telling u earlier..even Payit knows on Day 2.
I just wants her to come home and rest.
And finally celebrate Papa's birthday together..
