Sorry for the long hibernation..been very busy last week..but a lot of stories to tell.
WEDNESDAY – pre-engagement day
Took leave to set up the house for the engagement of my brother Al-Payit. Just a bit of dusting here and there. Removing some furnitures, throwing some unnecessary stuff. Done by afternoon. Went out with my sister to Carrefour. That nite, went out to Tupai-Tupai, a seafood restaurant. Me, my sis, my bro-in-law and his brother and...HIM. He treated us. Hahaha..! He just got his first paycheck. I told him, I’ll slide a couple of bucks in your hand if you need any. Hehehe..
THURSDAY – engagement day
Started off by putting on ‘new’ carpets..vacuuming here and there. All set and ready. People and relatives came, HE CAME. Hahahah..!With a friend of course. Whispers here and there. Smiled, nodded, talked and time to go. He did ok. Still shy la of course. But the good thing was that he clicked well with my brother in-law. That’s a good thing. I want him to have a friend. Even though he is a friend that comes to visit him for like once every 4 years. Heheh..
The ceremony started by 3.30pm. Our family went to her house which was like a few steps away..same housing area..hahahah..the theme from our side was orange and the theme from their side was blue. My brother was nervous. Yeah, u should be man, this is a big step. This is the girl, the one. No play-play ok!
I was so tired that day. Cleaning up..thank God for a helper that my mom brought from the school canteen. She helped a lot with the dishes and all.
That nite, even though I felt like I just wanted to slam myself onto bed, seeing him will be the best therapy for me. We went out for dinner and after that, I just felt happy..so happy. Alhamdulillah. Everything went well.
FRIDAY
I was on leave because of fatigue and also, to fix my Genny. Well, she had been having some trouble lately. It was time to fix her and my oh my..they fixed her up well....$$$$$
SATURDAY
Lunch and movie. The movie..jeng..jeng..jeng..a Hindi movie by Karan Johar. Kabhi Alveda Naa Kehna. Hahahah..starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta and Abhishek Bachan. A good movie. But the songs were not that entertaining as usual.
The message that the director wanted to convey is simple. The foundation of a marriage is love...or basically, marry the one you love because you might find someone you love after you are married. Hmm..I dunno whether to agree or disagree because both of our concerns were basically, how the affair started off in the first place.
That nite, I sent my brother off back to Kelantan..partly hitched to a girl.
SUNDAY
I spent the day with my sister. She wanted to do some last minute shopping before flying off back to Dublin. We went to Warta in Bangi. We started shopping at 12 pm I think and it was almost 2.30 pm when we decided to go home.
I parked in the basement and on the way out, there was a slope going up before turning right to exit. As I drove up the slope, there was a stupid motorist coming from the front which was supposed to be a no exit for them! As I tried to avoid the motorist, my Genny hit the wall bad and..and..*sigh*..well..basically, my Genny got a scarred face. A very..very..scarred face. Arghh…! I was so damn mad! And I am more mad as I could not scream and yell at the stupid motorist..!
I was upset as I just fix her up you know..I mean..*sigh*..I think all of you know what I mean..
Nway, that evening I went to see him for a drink and just kept silent as he tried to comfort me by making silly jokes that actually did make me laughed.
That nite, went to the airport...sent my sister, Aeda, Inaas and my brother in law off to Dublin..I cried as I waved them from afar. I mean, the reason was basically, this whole week had been like a dream come true for me and I think for my mom and dad. All of us, one family, under one roof.
And I came back home to the house, feeling so empty.
But hey, life goes on.
And I’m so grateful that I have YOU.
